NEET UG 2026: NTA to conduct exam in one shift on May 03 from 2 pm. Over 22.79 lakh candidates applied for the exam. NEET UG (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Undergraduate). As per the NEET marking scheme, every correct response is marked as 4 and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. The question paper consists of 180 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 720 marks.

NEET 2026 Paper Timing

NTA will conduct a single shift from 2 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, 3 May. Candidates must reach the NEET examination centre at least one hour before the paper begins. Students arriving at the centre after 1:30 pm will not be permitted to enter.

NEET UG 2026: NTA guideline, dress code

For NEET UG 2026, NTA has issued guidelines regarding the dress code in the admit card

Key dress code instructions include:

  1. Wear a plain shirt or t-shirt with simple trousers or pants
  2. Avoid clothes with heavy embroidery, sequins, or metallic attachments

NEET Self Declaration Form 2026

NTA released the NEET self-declaration form 2026, which is issued along with the admit card. The candidate must take the undertaking along with the NEET admit card 2026 to the centre for the exam.

NTA Advisory on NEET Biometric Verification 2026

As per the NTA guidelines, on the NEET 2026 exam, candidates will undergo mandatory biometric verification before entering the exam room. If verification cannot be completed due to any device malfunction, poor biometric quality, connectivity issues with UIDAI, or physical inability. The candidate will still be allowed to enter the examination room

However, candidates will be required to submit a written undertaking in the format provided by the exam centre.
